“ This is the best pho I've ever had and deserves every star it gets. Is it the fanciest place around? No. It makes up for its ambience in extremely fast and attentive service and the best pho you'll ever have. Be prepared to wait in line as it can get busy, but it does go fast. People are in and out quickly and tables flipped immediately. You are also able to order to-go meals if that's your fancy. Amazing food joint. Treat yo'self! ”
“ Pho soup flavor was on point but the temp was a little off. Broth wasn't as hot as expected like it is at most other pho joints. Egg rolls were good with plenty of veggies on the side to make wraps out of. Service was quick and to the point. Get ready to be nice and cozy in here as it's close quarters and tends to get a bit loud. Came here for the pho and was def not disappointed. ”
“ NOTE: CASH ONLY Visited and tried the large Pho Tai. The bowl came packed with generous portions of meat and soup, although a tad more noodles would have balanced the serving size better. The quality of the meat was higher than most other pho joints and really sets Pho 79 apart. The broth was rich and flavorful, really making the entire dish. While the broth was tasty, I've enjoy the ones from some other pho restaurants more. However, this just comes down to personal preference. I also ordered the pork meatball appetizer and spring rolls, both of which went perfectly with the peanut sauce. The servers were nice and helpful but it was not easy to get their attention at times. Granted, it was a full house. There's a parking lot in the back but if the restaurant is busy like when we went, you might need to wait around for a spot to open up or find parking elsewhere. I recommend dropping someone off to get in the queue for a table if possible. Overall, Pho 79 offers a solid experience with its flavorful broth, generous meat servings, and delicious appetizers, making it a worthwhile visit. ”
“ Pho 79 was my go to pho place for years. I drove down from LA or drove up from SD just for this. But over the recent year, I've gotten a bit meh about it.. The broth was why I went - but I feel like the flavor has changed slightly. It used to have a more "smokier" taste. The last couple of times, the temperature has been like warm. I like my pho piping hot. Customer service has never been their strong suit, but the few instances really dissuaded me. There's a young fellow who always talks in a rude tone, throws the menu on the table, and doesn't respond or acknowledge after you say something in the short interaction. And I think just saying customers shouldn't have expectations from restos like this is not reasonable. You can be terse for speed but you don't have to be a jerk. Cleanliness has also not been a strong suit but increasingly, I just feel like the dishwater, tables, cutleries are not cleaned very well these days. I still give it a 4 but just feel that there is a lot of room for improvement. Also am looking for other pho spots so if you have THE pho spot to go to, let me know. ”
“ 5 STARS Pho 79 is the best pho restaurant that I've tried in Westminster. It is a James Beard Foundation Award winner for its pho, and it's well-deserved. Here's what I recommend getting: * Pho tai chin - rare steak and brisket pho ($12.75 for Small / $14.25 for Medium / $17.50 for Large). 5 of 5 stars. I added beef meatball for additional $5. The broth is absolutely delicious and what makes this pho. They serve ample amounts of good quality meat in the pho as well. It was such a large order that I had to get a to-go container to bring the rest home. * Cha gio - crispy fried egg rolls ($9.25). 5 of 5 stars. We ordered a couple of these for our group of 5. They were delicious. It was served with the lettuce, mint, pickled veggies, and fish sauce. Highly recommend. I really want to try the oxtail pho next time I visit. They were out of it when we went for dinner on a Sunday night. The wait can get a little long at Pho 79, so try to go during off-hours. Also, this is a cash-only restaurant, so be sure to bring some money with you. Parking can be a little tough as the parking lot gets full very quickly. You may need to park around the corner in the commercial strip mall lot. ”
